CO2focus has specialized in selling UN approved carbon credits, or CERs (Certified Emission Reductions) which are part of the Kyoto Protocol’s Clean Development Mechanism.

If you buy a CER carbon credit you are financially supporting a specific project which reduces emissions of greenhouse gases and your share in the project is equivalent to 1 tonne of CO2. In addition you support the development of a sustainable economy in the actual country, region and local village. 

We select only premium projects within renewable energy based on biomass, solar, wind and geothermic power. Through this, you as a customer help to replace the use of fossil fuel like coal, heavy fuel oil, gas etc. If we manage to replace these sources of energy we will succeed to transform the economy into a sustainable and green pattern. When you buy a CER from us you will know exactly which project you support.

We import all the CERs to the Swiss Carbon Registry where we surrender them on behalf of you, the buyer. Consequently, the CER can never be used again.

CO2focus is today a leading provider of climate management services in the Nordic region with a customer list including about 150 Nordic corporations. We have sold about 75.000 CERs (tonnes CO2) on a voluntary basis to these corporations.
